Hidden beneath the hill of Zaruđe, at the very entrance to the Kaludra River canyon, Tumbarice represents an intriguing archaeological site in Berane. This rocky, forest covered elevation bears witness to a continuity of life from around 2500 BC to the 7th century AD. Dominating the village of Donja Ržanica and much of the Berane basin, the strategic location and elliptical shape of Tumbarice offer an intriguing insight into the ancient past of this region.
TUMBARICE BEFORE CONSERVATION
3D model of the cultural site was created in the first phase of the project, before conservation works. The goal was to document the initial state of the site and create detailed, metrically precise project documentation based on which the conservation project will be carried out.
