The Turkish bath in Peja/Peć, one of the city’s most important and oldest monuments, was built at the beginning of Ottoman rule. Located near the Hamam mosque, it is often called the Hamam mosque. It was erected in the Sinan Vojvoda quarter when Peja/Peć had only 18 quarters. This monumental public building was constructed in the second half of the 15th century when Peja/Peć was part of the sanjak of Ipek (1462-1485). It is believed that there was no mosque near the bath for a long time until the Hamam mosque was built in 1587.
TURKISH BATH BEFORE CONSERVATION
3D model of the cultural site was created in the first phase of the project, before conservation works. The goal was to document the initial state of the site and create detailed, metrically precise project documentation based on which the conservation project will be carried out.
